Mesothelioma models review by MRN members

MRN members including British Lung Foundation-Papworth Mesothelioma Research Fellows have published a review of mesothelioma models in the Journal Thorax

The authors acknowledge the lack of progress in developing robust pre-clinical models has impacted the success of clinical trials, yet more sophisticated models than ever are in development now than ever. They summarise the benefits and limitations of murine models and 2D cell models, with a focus on developing organoid models which the research group is currently tasked with.

In May 2020 we heard from MRN members about the latest mouse models, mesothelioma organoids and a chick embryo mesothelioma model. A further update webinar on models is planned for Summer 2021. Keep an eye out for more details.
